Emmy Award winner, Brad Garrett, is opening a new comedy club in Las Vegas. On June 28, 2010, “Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club” will open at Tropicana Las Vegas, and feature comedy seven nights a week starting at 8pm. Fridays and Saturdays will have an extra show time at 10pm.

You’ve loved Garrett as Ray Romano’s big, Eeyore type of brother on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” and loved him starring on his current show “Til Death,” not to mention numerous other television shows and film appearances, but now you can see him live, in person, doing his famous stand-up right here in Las Vegas. He’s no stranger to the Vegas stages.

“I’ve had the good fortune of performing in Las Vegas for more than 25 years, and it has always been a dream of mine to own my own comedy club in the entertainment capital of the world… but Dubai won’t have me,” Garrett quipped. “I am humbled to be able to bring my stand-up friends and colleagues to what I believe will be the best comedy room in Las Vegas.”

Garrett will be headlining in his club on June 28th until July4th, 2010. Other great comics already scheduled to perform in the club this year are Kevin Nealon, Dom Irrera, Bob Zany, Rondell Sheridan, Rocky LaPorte and more celebrities plan to make surprise appearances throughout the year.

Brad Garrett really seems to do his best to promote his bad boy image, particularly when it comes to TMZ and other run-ins he’s had with the paparazzi. It’s easy to think he’s one big jerk and likely to strangle some sleazy photographer at some point or another. However, the reality is, he spends a good portion of his day helping the up and coming comics and others in the entertainment industry who are just starting out. Garrett is there, usually anonymously, sharing tips and advice and nobody ever had to ask for his help. Obviously, he has a love for the art and compassion for those who are trying to get their careers kick started. I have not known a kinder, more generous person in Las Vegas. When others are successful and shutting themselves off from others, Garrett is out there giving back. Although, that being said, I seriously doubt anyone he’s offered to help suddenly popped up out of the bushes with a telephoto lens.

This morning when I was driving to my office, I was doing the usual constant button pushing between bad radio stations, button one, to button six, to button four to button three. Every station in this city is awful. Then I heard a familiar booming voice. Could it be? Yep, Brad Garrett was on a morning radio show seriously upping the comedic ante. Instead of me having to listen to those two morning guys blab about strippers, who is boinking who in Hollywood, commentary on sex tapes and other drivel, I got to laugh all the way in to my desk. It was awesome. God bless him for giving my button pushing finger a rest for one morning. He is one hell of a funny guy.

So, the guy who is so talented that it landed him on Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show” at only twenty-three years old, and opened for the likes of Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr., now is going to have an anchor in fabulous Las Vegas. He’s going to continue to tour, but I’m thinking you’re going to be seeing a lot of him on his own stage in the Tropicana Las Vegas throughout the year.
